2026 Wivenhoe Pram Race.
7 pm, Friday 3RD July, 2026.

The Wivenhoe Pram Race is a traditional annual fun event in Wivenhoe, Essex.

Starting at the Station Pub, competitors race over a course around lower Wivenhoe, drinking half a pint of beer (or soft drink) at each stop along the way.

Take part by completing the entry form below by 4pm on Friday 3rd July 2026, or spectate along the route!

Entry is Free. Competitors must complete and submit an online entry form by 4pm on Friday 3rd July 2026,
Competitors must arrive at The Station Hotel (opposite Wivenhoe train station) between 6.15pm and 6.45pm on Friday, 3rd July 2026 for pre-race registration.

PRIZES:
£100 prize for the winners (kindly donated by W.O.R.C and The Station Hotel) and champagne for the best fancy dressed team.

HOW TO ENTER:
Complete and return the entry form below (by 4pm on Friday 3rd July 2026).
Dress up and bring your own pram/wheeled vehicle to The Station Hotel car park between 6.15pm and 6.45pm for pre-race registration.

***IMPORTANT RACE SAFETY ADVICE***
  1. Participants must ensure their pram/wheeled vehicle are stable, safe and secure. We recommend wearing safety protective headwear, knee and elbow protectors and appropriate protective clothing.
  2. 1/2 pint drinks (beer or a soft drink) are provided at each stop and must be consumed in full to stay in the race. Failure to complete each stop successfully by drinking each drink in full, will result in disqualification.
  3. Although the event is a race, we advise participants to keep within a safe speed, remembering to slow down to an appropriate speed when approaching corners/turns. It is the responsibility of participants to avoid any parked vehicles along the route – any damages claimed are payable by the participant.
  4. Participants enter at their own risk and are responsible for health and safety compliance. If you suffer from a medical condition or are pregnant, we advise you to first seek professional medical advice or not to enter.
